What Can I Do?

Many aspects of conservation are extremely complex and at times overwhelming.  But others are not.  Often, we wonder “what can I do as an individual to help?”

There are many simple things you can do every day to help reduce your impact on the planet.  For example, today or tomorrow decrease the amount of fossil fuels you consume.  Drive less.  Turn off the lights in a room you are not using.  Unplug your phone’s charger, or some other charger that is using electricity while it sits waiting to perform its function.

Combustion of fossil fuels is perhaps the greatest issue facing the oceans.  It leads to climate change, ocean acidification and Mercury toxicity in many marine species.  These are very big challenges to the ocean, but the solution is pretty easy.  Use less.

You can help make a difference – today.  Give it a whirl.  I suspect you will be pleasantly surprised how easy it is and how nice it makes you feel.
